Day 8, 2016 - Villamayor de Montjardin to Sansol

YELLOW COLZA

A weary spirit

can be rejuvenated

by even a weed.

Late departure made the journey more difficult as the day progressed. Along the way, there were several stops for a cold San Miguel Clara or a water refill as weariness crept in. However, seeing what would come to be a frequent sight, this yellow weed provided the distraction needed to forget about aching feet and blisters or worry about where I would fill my stomach and lay my head. The magnitude and color were overwhelming and produced a renewed skip in my step. A friend challenged me to attach a color to each day and try to notice everything of that color during the day's walk. Today's choice was obvious as it followed the path and saturated the landscape.
