Soulful
Even through the glass,
it seems there might be a soul
within this big brute.
I visited the St. Louis zoo yesterday and because of the cold temperature many animals were inside, staying warm. This one, along with his "friends" slept for a time in his hammock; then dutifully displayed his dominance before swinging from "branch to branch". He stopped for a moment with a pensive look so penetrating that it seemed impossible not to believe a soul was not there.
